TANGERINE GENERAL IS NDPR AUDIT COMPLIANT 2025

Tanya is at an age where the world should be full of possibilities. She should be thinking about what she wants to learn, the places she hopes to visit, the career she dreams of pursuing, and the kind of person she wants to become. Her biggest concerns should be discovering her interests, making friends, learning new things, and enjoying the simple beauty of being a child, but not every girl gets to experience childhood this way.
For some girls, the future is decided for them before they are old enough to understand what it means to make such decisions. Their education is interrupted, their ambitions are put aside, and they are pushed into responsibilities they are not ready for. Instead of having the time and freedom to discover who they are, they are expected to grow up before their time.
Child marriage remains one of the challenges robbing girls of their childhoods and limiting their opportunities. It can take girls away from school, expose them to serious health and social risks, and deny them the freedom to make decisions about their own lives. Behind every statistic is a girl whose story deserves a different ending, a girl like Tanya, who deserves the chance to grow, learn, and decide what her future will look like.
This is why the International Day of the Girl Child, observed every October 11, carries such an important message. The 2026 theme, “End Child Marriage and Invest in Girls’ Rights,” calls on us to do more than acknowledge the challenges girls face. It calls for meaningful action to protect their rights, preserve their childhoods, and create opportunities for them to thrive.
For Tanya, investing in her future means ensuring she can stay in school, access the support she needs, and grow up in an environment where her safety and well-being matters. It means allowing her to develop her abilities, express her opinions, and make choices appropriate for her age without being forced into a future she did not choose.
Every girl deserves these opportunities. Education should not be a privilege reserved for a few, and protection should never depend on where a girl is born or the circumstances of her family. Girls deserve access to quality education, healthcare, protection from violence and harmful practices, and the freedom to pursue their aspirations as they grow.
Ending child marriage requires families, communities, organizations, and governments to work together. It means challenging harmful beliefs, supporting families, strengthening protections for children, and ensuring that girls have access to education and resources that can open doors to a brighter future. Most importantly, it means listening to girls and recognizing that their voices must be part of the decisions that affect their lives.
When we invest in girls, we invest in more than individual futures. We invest in stronger families, healthier communities, and a society where every child has a fair opportunity to reach their potential. A girl who is protected, educated, and supported is better equipped to make informed decisions, contribute to her community, and inspire others to believe in what is possible.
At Tangerine, this day offers an opportunity to reflect on the importance of building a future where people can grow, pursue opportunities, and achieve their potential. As we recognize the International Day of the Girl Child, let us remember that protecting girls' rights is not a responsibility for one day alone. It is a commitment that must continue in our homes, schools, workplaces, and communities.
Tanya deserves the time to be a child, the opportunity to receive an education, and the freedom to dream about her future. She deserves to grow up knowing that her life has value, her voice matters, and her ambitions are worth pursuing, and so does every other girl.
Let girls be children. Let them learn, grow, and dream. End child marriage and invest in their rights, because every girl deserves the opportunity to shape her own future.
