Blood donor drive
In a powerful display of unity, compassion, and purpose, Tangerine Africa hosted a groundbreaking blood donation drive that brought together over 600 individuals including volunteers, partners, members of the press, students, and everyday heroes with one goal, to save lives.
The event, themed "Everyone’s Hero," saw the donation of more than 100 pints of blood, creating a vital resource for hospitals and emergency response teams across the region. Members of staff from the Tangerine brand were present and contributed to this noble cause by donating blood as well.
With music in the air, energy on the ground, and the spirit of generosity flowing, the event became more than a medical initiative, it became a movement. Each pint of blood donated represents up to three lives saved, a family kept whole, and hope restored for many people.
At Tangerine Africa, we believe that impact begins with intention. The success of this blood drive is a testament to what’s possible when people come together to give not just their time, but something even more vital, their blood. This wasn’t just about numbers; it was about the power of community, the value of life, and the heartbeat of humanity.
During the event, the Managing Director of Tangerine General, Mr. Ademayowa Adeduro, reinforced the Tangerine brand’s commitment to adding value to society through voluntary blood donation. He also commended the Lagos State Government for exhibiting excellence in all its endeavours, which has contributed to an increase in the state’s GDP.
Other Managing Directors from the Tangerine group, Mr. Kehinde Borisade (MD, Tangerine Life) and Mrs. Tonye Ukpong (MD, Total Health Trust) also lauded the efforts of the Lagos State Blood Transfusion Service for their dedication to consistently saving lives.
This initiative speaks to the core of Tangerine Africa’s values: making real change, leading with purpose, and always putting people first. We’re proud of what we’ve achieved together but this is just the beginning.
